Change to Direct Debit Provider

Change of Direct Debit Provider

After careful consideration, we have decided to come away from our direct debit company Harlands Ltd.

We have had several issues with their customer service over the Lockdown period, both restarting members, not cancelling memberships when requested, and collecting membership fees that were not due to leave members accounts.

This is not the level of service we expect from one of our providers, all membership processes will now be brought in house, this will include, New, upgrade, downgrade, suspension, direct debit changes, arrears payments, and cancellations.

Your final direct debit from Harlands will be 1st June 2021, on the 5th June we ask that you cancel your direct debit with Harlands at your bank.

You will be sent a link via email in the next 5 days which will take you to our new payment portal where you will need to enter up-to-date account detail and your induvial membership number

There will be no change to your monthly payment amounts or administration fees.

You will then see @Worle on your bank account statement, the first direct debit will be taken on the 1st July 2021. We do ask that the above is completed by the 10th June 2021, to allow the new system to process all new bank details

This is a positive move by the centre to bring all processes in house. The team at the centre are always happy to help.

Kind Regards

Candace

Re-Opening 12th April 2021

Good Afternoon,

We hope this email finds you safe and well,

We are finally at the stage on some form of road map to return. From the PMs announcements gyms can reopen all being well on the 12th April 2021. It has been a difficult time for many and we are looking forward to welcoming you back to the centre.

A few things around reopening the gym facilities; we will reopen on Monday 12th April at 6am, for now we will continue using the booking system to ensure we can manage numbers until after 21st June 2021, and then make any changes based around new government guidelines.

We will be running outdoor classes such as bootcamps, Spin and HIIT, from this date outside like last year in groups of up to 20. This will be open to members only. Booking will be available 8 days before.

Indoor group exercise classes such as Zumba, Yoga and Pilates will return from 17th May 2021 as per government guidelines. We will continue to run classes online as we have done until that point and will continue outdoor bootcamps across the summer and autumn months. We will try to take our classes outside as often as we can.

Our cafe bar will be open throughout the week for coffees and cold drinks, and a small range of snacks and hot baps on the weekend. In the coming months we will be launching our new club house.

All members direct debits will be restarted 15th April 2021. This will be a pro rata payment up until 30th April.  Harlands will confirm the correct payment amount in a separate email. A full membership payment will then be taken on the 1st May 2021.

We are allowing all members one last opportunity for Covid-19 related suspensions which will run up until 30th June 2021, where your direct debit will continue to be frozen until 1st July 2021.  Please request suspension through Harlands freeze portal when you receive the email regarding DD restart.

Any other membership requests such as an upgrade or downgrades will be processed from the 12th April 2021. Cancellations can be processed any time directed to myself.

We understand in January before the announcement from the PM regarding lockdown 3.0 a membership payment was deducted from your banks. As a charity community gym. We are requesting if you are happy to donate your membership fee for that month we would really appreciate your support. If you would like to receive a free month at a later date for loss of services. Then please contact myself directly and we will place you on a list for compensation.

We will contact all members a week before to confirm any changed and further details, gym slots and class slots will be available to book on the 6th April 2021.

From all at @worle we are very much looking forward to welcoming you back

Kind Regards, Stay Safe,

Candace Riley

Centre Closure - Lockdown 3.0

Here we are again having to close our doors for a third time, like all of you we recognise the need to stay home, stay safe and protect others. From Tuesday 5th January 2021 we will be closing the centre for all gym, classes, dance, 3G and grass roots and court bookings until further notice we hope to be welcoming you back to the centre at the end of February.  From today your membership will be suspended until the end of February no further payments will be taken until we reopen.

We are fully aware most members direct debits have already been taken for January and with the late announcement, we could not have predicted nor affected the payments that were in motion following the direct debit guarantee.  We are working with Harland’s our direct debit management company who will make amendments to all members direct debits with a discount upon reopening again. The discounted membership will show a pro-rata for what has been lost this month. The discounted membership fees will be as followed for the first month upon reopening.

Unlimited £24.30

Gym (matrix £20.00) £17.28

Gym (£25pcm) £21.60

Junior £13.07

Please do not cancel any direct debits as this will cause issues when we reopen.

As throughout the previous lockdown and the tier 3 changes we will be offering to all members the opportunity to keep up their fitness with our online live class timetable, these classes are not pre recorded and instructors will deliver a full class as our attached timetable. The classes can be found on the below zoom link more information and reminders of classes will be placed on our @worle members only group.

Tier 3 Restrictions

Member Announcement

We have just seen Mr Hancock announcement and the worst has been advised North Somerset has been placed in Tier 3.

We have mixed emotions at the centre, the gym is allowed to open along with grass root sports outside.

Unfortunately indoor group exercise classes will be unable to run. We have already prepared for this and have put together a online class timetable accessible from home. We will be contacting all unlimited and class only members with the links this evening and posting a copy of the timetable which will be running from the 2nd December 2020.

As advised direct debits were unable to be stopped for December. Class only members can access 20 online live classes per week. You also have the opportunity to upgrade your membership for £3 to enable you gym access which includes a free induction and gym programme. Class only members also have the option to suspend their membership until tier 2 is achieved in the area.

For those gym, unlimited and grassroots teams that use the venue we look forward to seeing you next week.

If you have any questions of queries please contact Candace on criley@worle.org.uk as she is currently remote working.

Stay safe. Shop local and support local business where necessary when having a take out.

Centre Reopening 2nd December 2020

Firstly I would like to thank all of the members who have supported the centre by donating this month’s membership fees and continued to attend our fitness classes online. We cannot thank you enough for your continued support and loyalty.

I would like to update you after the recent PM's announcement, we are pleased to say we will be reopening our doors on Wednesday 2nd December at 6am. It is with even better news that gyms and grass root sports  can stay open and be played no matter what tier is being given to the local area.

As you will be aware from reopening in July after the first lockdown, the centre has and will continue to work hard providing you with a safe and clean environment to give you the confidence to return to our centre in all areas.

With this in mind the government will be releasing tier group information on Thursday which could make a couple of differences to your experience at the centre, from information already released from Sport England and UK Active.

I wanted to confirm group exercise classes can have more than 6 people in them in Tier 1 and 2, as we are able to operate classes within a Covid-19 secure environment with social distancing measures in place, as we did before the most recent lockdown. However if our area is placed in Tier 3 we will be unable along with all other gyms and health clubs be allowed to run indoor group exercise classes.

We know some of you are class only members and if we fall into Tier 3 you will be unable to use the centre until we have been placed into a the lower tier.  With this in mind we will continue to run the online class timetable which will be emailed out to all members and would enable you to complete your favourite classes in the comfort of your own home.

If you feel this is not enough and would like to focus on training further in the centre or not attending the centre until we are in a suitable tier then here are a few membership options for you:

  • if you are a class only member we would like to give you the opportunity to upgrade your membership to a full unlimited gym and class membership to enable you to use the gym if we are placed in Tier three. To upgrade it will cost you £3 extra a month we will provide you with a free induction, matrix band and gym floor programme to enable you to continue your fitness without the availability of in-house group exercise classes.

  • You can suspend your membership until we are placed in a tier 2 region. The suspension will come into place in January where no fees will be taken until you can return.

On Thursday we will know our Tier and we can process membership changes from this point starting on the 2nd December 2020. Due to the date of announcement we are unable to stop any direct debits, please do not cancel your direct debit we would hate for any membership issues to arise.

If you would like to upgrade, suspend or cancel your membership please contact candace by 30th November 2020.

We are so happy to be welcoming you back to the centre, we will continue to aid in your fitness and mental wellbeing journey

If you have any further questions please don't hesitate to contact candace on criley@worle.org.uk,

Re-Opening - Wednesday 2nd December 2020

We know you are all eager to get back to the centre and have a few questions. We are working through all available information and will update all members and all of our sporting bookings tomorrow with what we know.

Positive News is that all gyms can stay open and outdoor sports including football at all levels is allowed to be played no matter the tier. Please keep updated with the FA and your sporting governing body for more information.

Look forward to welcoming you all back soon, details will be emailed and confirmed on our social media as soon as we can

Lockdown Update

Good evening. Like all of you, we have watched the Prime Minister’s announcement this evening and feel very sad. We can confirm we will be required to close from 5th November to 2nd of December.

We understand you will all have many questions, just like we do! Right now, we are working hard behind the scenes to be able to give you answers via an email as soon as possible in the next few days. We will also, of course, put together an online class programme for all our members to join in with if they wish.

Please bear with us while we work everything out, and we will get back to you all ASAP.

In the meantime, until Thursday we will continue to be open as normal with all current restrictions in place as they have been. Thank you all for your understanding.

Stay safe,

Candace and the @Worle team

Government update and centre closure

Members and Centre Users

With heavy hearts we are very sorry to announce, that we will be closing our doors from 10pm on Wednesday 4th November until 2nd December 2020, with hope to reopen on the 3rd December 2020.

As you are all aware with the late announcement on Saturday 31st October we were unable to stop your direct debit payment for November. We kindly request that you do not cancel your direct debit. To prevent ay issues with any future payments, for when we re-open.

As you may or may not be aware, we are a community charity run facility, where we have worked hard behind the scenes to enable the centre to reopen back in July. Providing all members and users with a safe environment following COVID-19 regulations. As with all small business/charity this comes at a large cost. With the centre being closed for a further month we are already realising the effects the first lockdown had on our charities finances.

With this in mind, we would like to politely ask members who are able to, to donate this month’s membership fee to the centre. We understand not all members will be in a position to do this and that is OK of course. If you would like to be issued with a refund please contact Candace on criley@worle.org.uk with your full name by the 10th November.

.

The team at @Worle have worked hard the last few days, to organise a virtual class timetable and we will continue to deliver as we did in the previous lockdown. Online sessions for all members both gym and class, will be available to ensure you can keep up with your fitness and to help aid mental health during this difficult lockdown period. Please see our attached timetable. log onto our Facebook page @worle members only to gain the class links which will he held on zoom.  We also have a youtube page offering varying workouts to complete in your own time.

Thank you once again for your ongoing loyalty, support and understanding we are a charity community gym and times like these bring the team and members closer together whilst being apart we come together through fitness

We’re going to miss you all and look forward to welcoming you back next month

Stay Safe and well

Candace and the team
